Dr. Chavis McDermott

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Chavis McDermott earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Campbellsville University School of Chiropractic. Prior to pursuing his doctorate, he completed his Bachelor's degree at Western Kentucky University. During his chiropractic training, Dr. Chavis completed a year-long preceptorship with Spine Stop Chiropractic, where he gained hands-on clinical experience and developed the patient-centered approach that now defines his practice. After working closely with the team and witnessing the positive impact they made on patients' lives, Dr. Chavis knew Spine Stop Chiropractic was the perfect place to begin his professional career.

During his clinical training and preceptorship, Dr. Chavis worked with a wide range of patients dealing with back pain, neck pain, headaches, and sports-related injuries. He focuses on helping patients restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life. Dr. Chavis utilizes diversified chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue techniques, myofascial release, and rehabilitative exercises to address the root cause of pain rather than simply treating symptoms.

Dr. Chavis believes chiropractic care should focus on the whole person, not just the area that hurts. His approach combines traditional chiropractic techniques with modern evidence-based care to help patients move better, feel better, and live healthier lives. Whether a patient is dealing with chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or simply wanting to maintain optimal wellness, Dr. Chavis works to create personalized treatment plans designed to support long-term health and function.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Chavis enjoys spending time with family and friends. He is a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan and proudly wore number 4 as a defensive end in little league, inspired by his favorite player, Brett Favre, and coached by none other than his own dad. In the fall, you can often find Dr. Chavis chasing whitetail deer across Kentucky and Tennessee, enjoying the outdoors and the quiet moments nature provides. At home, he enjoys spending time with his 10-year-old Husky, Cooper, who keeps him active and entertained. Family is extremely important to Dr. Chavis, and many of his weekends are spent with his nieces and nephews making memories together.

Dr. Chavis's journey into chiropractic care began after suffering multiple concussions during his sports career. For years, he struggled with frequent headaches and believed it was simply something he would have to live with. That changed when his brother and sister both pursued careers in chiropractic. They introduced him to the benefits of chiropractic care, and after beginning regular adjustments, his headaches began to improve dramatically. Experiencing firsthand how chiropractic care could restore health and improve quality of life inspired Dr. Chavis to pursue the profession and help others find the same relief.

Dr. Chavis is committed to providing personalized, compassionate care for every patient who walks through the door. He believes patients should feel heard, understood, and empowered in their health journey. His goal is not only to relieve pain but also to educate patients and provide them with the tools needed to maintain long-term health and wellness.
