Where the Spine Stop Chiropractic Story Began
Every practice has a starting point, and ours is right here in Bowling Green. Founder and CEO Dr. Grant Watkins and his wife, Michelle, moved to Kentucky from Colorado and traveled around the state looking for a place to call home. The rolling hills, Southern charm, and close-knit feel of Scottsville won them over. On March 4, 2009, the first Spine Stop Chiropractic location opened its doors. From the beginning, the goal has been to give local families another way to care for their bodies through natural, proactive chiropractic care.
Meet Dr. Max Sauer
More Than Adjustments
Chiropractic adjustments are at the heart of what we do, but they aren’t the only option available in Scottsville. Dr. Sauer may incorporate spinal decompression when controlled spinal traction is appropriate, or dry needling when muscle tightness is affecting your movement. What’s recommended depends on your examination, not a preset routine. For $49, new patients receive a consultation and exam, X-rays when clinically indicated, and a report of findings. That final conversation is where Dr. Sauer explains what he found and answers questions about the proposed plan.

Small-Town Roots Run Deep
Scottsville’s historic courthouse square reflects its easygoing character, but this small town has a surprisingly big business story. Dollar General traces its beginnings here to the Turner family’s wholesale business. Allen County is also home to a long-established Mennonite community, while nearby Barren River Lake offers plenty of room for fishing, hiking, and weekends outdoors.
Come See Where It All Started
